Since 2014, skate-aid has been supporting the Associação do skate de Moçambique (ASM) in their planning and implementation of skateboarding workshops and other sports activities for the underprivileged kids and teenagers in Maputo, Mozambique. The ASM has dedicated itself primarily to the fight against drug abuse, diseases and juvenile delinquency. To implement the project, skate-aid provides hardware and financial resources. In addition, funds were provided for the renovation of the existing facility. 

The next major goal is to build a skate park. It should become the centerpiece of a youth- and cultural center, which should provide the kids and teenagers with a haven, a sense of community and opportunities for development at the same time. Together with the ASM and the Danish organization “Skate World Better” we want to start construction in autumn 2019.

The project was started in 2014 by skate-aid e.V. München. skate-aid international e.V. has been implementing the project since May 2019.
