In the first days of our Uganda trip we had a lot on our agenda: First of all we visited the further extensions of the skate park in Kampala as well as the new library.
It’s always impressive what has been created here in recent years. Thanks to Hugo (@lugo_mureno) who is doing a great job here together with Jack and the other locals from @skateaiduganda and @usu
After that, we headed to Adjumani. There are about 230.000 refugees from Soth Sudan living here in 19 settlements and we wanted to see what we could do. On the way we visited the @Guluskatecommunity. They have been very active for several years now and are supported by us through the @Ugandaskateboardunion with skateboard stuff. We will be implementing a project there next year.
In Adjumani we visited some schools and settlements together with @UNHCR, our team from @USU and a portable miniramp.
As expected, the interest was awesome and the need for more school and afternoon activities is undoubtedly there. As the next step, we’re checking how we can secure funding for holistic programming together with other program partners.
