Yesterday we finally restarted with our skateboard workshops in Bethlehem/Palestine. After a break of more than 12 months we’re finally back on the board! The skate park is located near the historic site of Shepherd's Field in the West Bank. Apart from the political instability and the prevailing violence, the area suffers from a high unemployment rate and a high level of poverty. During the construction of the skate park, the kids and teenagers actively supported the construction work. Like that, they learned basic handicraft techniques along the way and developed a positive relationship toward the project, which focuses on a close link between formal and informal education, leisure and sports. Right now, it’s not yet possible to send international volunteers to our project in order to take care of it on site. We’re even more happy to announce our new cooperation: SkatePal x skate-aid! Our friends from SkatePal support us from now on in Palestine! Together we empower the kids in Bethlehem! We’re very happy that our mission continues!
