Become an volunteer abroad!

As a volunteer on site, you help us directly to apply the power of skateboarding. You will take care of all aspects of the skatepark - setting up schedules, organizing and accomplishing workshops and contests and first and foremost, taking care of the kids. You will be supported by a mentor from our local project partner and the skate-aid project office.

Tasks for volunteers:

Assistance at the skatepark, conduct skateboarding workshops and organize contests and events.
Carry out or initiate repair work in the park
Possibly assist with public relations and administration.

Previous Experience:

Skateboarding experience and enthusiasm.
Experience in dealing with children and young people
Identification with the culture of skateboarding
Good communication skills, adaptability and ability to work under pressure
Willingness to learn the local language.

We dispatch volunteers through the private law framework. There’s also a possibility for volunteers from all over the world to get involved. The minimum age is 21 years. Current vacancies

In spring 2019 and in cooperation with the SOS Children's Villages Syria we built a public, multifunctional skate park in Damascus, Syria. We’re looking for volunteers for a period of 2 months (possibility of extension) who are responsible for the design of the educational program according to the skate-aid guidelines.

The tasks include:

- Conduct skateboard workshops with the children of SOS Syria

- Conduct general public skateboard workshops

- If necessary, repair work at the skate park

- In coordination with SOS Syria support through further culture-oriented workshops

Syria

In 2018 and in cooperation with the NISE School for Special Education and Global Experience, we built a public skate park in Windhoek / Namibia. The volunteer program is for 3 months and we are looking for a volunteer to carry out the following activities according to the skate-aid guidelines.

The tasks include:

- Conduct skateboard workshops with the children of the schools for children with physical or mental disabilities

- Conduct general public skateboard workshops

- If necessary, repair work at the skate park

- Learning the sign language used in Namibia

Namibia

In Kampala, Uganda, we’re regularly looking for volunteers who support our project partner, the Uganda Skateboard Union, in various local activities. The duration of the mission is flexible and we are looking for a person to carry out the following activities according to the skate-aid guidelines.

The tasks include:

- Assisting the skateboard workshops

- If necessary, help to repair the skate park

- In cooperation with the USU support through further culture-oriented workshops

Uganda

For each of the periods March to June and August to October in cooperation with our partner SOS Children’s Village Bethlehem, we’ll send a volunteer to Bethlehem / Palestine for a period of 3 months who is responsible for the design of the educational program according to the skate-aid guidelines.

The tasks include:

- Conduct skateboard workshops with the children of SOS Children's Village Bethlehem

- Conduct general public skateboard workshops

- If necessary, repair work at the skate park

- In coordination with SOS Children's Village Bethlehem support through further culture-oriented workshops

Palestine

In 2022 the multifunctional sports facility and skate-aid logo shaped skate park has been opened to the public. The park has been built by skate-aid international e.V. in collaboration with skate-aid Nepal and the Tillotama Municipality in Butwal, Nepal. We offer a volunteer position for a period of 3 months to a responsible and committed applicant.

The tasks include:

- Assisting skateboard workshops

- Conduct general public skateboard workshops

- If necessary, help to repair the skate park

- In coordination with skate-aid Nepal support through further culture-oriented workshops and other activities
